Story behind Toad and Foxdale

The Never-Ending Conflict of Toad and Foxdale was my first series. The first one was made in early July right after I got my digital camera. The camera allowed me take both pictures and short movie clips, and my brother had coincidentally gotten these 2 giant army figures (compared to traditional ones) and I got the idea to do a series. The real reason I probably did this was because Dave Rock had had 2 of his own cartoons that he made, which he had showed me. I, too, wanted to try and make these, but at the time did not want to spend the extra time it takes to animate, and instead chose to use the new digital camera and make a show similar to Action League Now, a sub-show on Nickelodeon that I had been a fan of when I was younger. The show is the classic hero or good guy (Toad, the green soldier), and then the evil arch-enemy (Foxdale, tan soldier. For Toad I decided to use the somewhat stereotypical deep voice, while I decided to use the not as stereotypical British accent for Foxdale. The plots are pretty basic and the scenes and stories basically use little objects from around my house (after all they are toys). The episodes generally start with a title screen, moved to a movie fly-by showing the scene, I usually do a short narration over this, and then the productions starts. These productions were fairly easy to make, and during the summer when I was bored, I would do as many as 2 a day. As for guest directing and voicing, Dave Rock guest directed a few episodes, and provided the voice for the doctor. Ryan Larsen guest directed episodes 5 and 6.
